   2. What is the difference between a bridge and a switch?
   3. What is the difference between a switch and a router?
2. The backbone of the Internet has a lot of built in redundancy. That is, there are generally many ways to route information from one machine to another. Why is this a good thing? Give one problem that arises because of this.
3. In the CSMA/CD protocol, if a machine detects a collision, it waits a random amount of time before trying to transmit again. Explain why it does this rather than immediately trying again or using a fixed wait time.
