  • Pretest
This will be an in-class test given during the second week of lecture. The purpose of the test is to make sure you have the proper prerequisite knowledge to take this course.
  • Homework
There will be 6 homework assignments.
  • Exams
There will be 2 exams during the semester, and a final exam during finals week.
  • Laboratory
There will be weekly laboratories, and you will have to complete a pretest, a worksheet, and a posttest. You must pass the pretest before you come to lab, but it will not count toward your grade. The lab grades will be equally weighted based on the worksheets and posttests.
  • Project (Honors section only)
You will be required to complete a semester project. More details about the nature of the project will come later.
Notice that students enrolled for CSCE156 will have grades out of 100 points, but students enrolled for CSCE156H will have grades out of 115 points.

Final Grading Scale:
Percent 86-100 82-85 80-81 73-79 65-72 60-64 0-59
Grade A B+ B C C- D F
Round your score up at .5.
Honors Students: I factored in your final project grade (90%) and recomputed your percentages out of 115, and it did not make a difference in your final letter grades, so I did not change the grades online to include the project.
